Is your manuscript a hot mess and you have no idea how to fix it?
Join our next 8-month self-editing program and we will help you take your novel from rough draft to revised gem.
Rough to Revised: Self-editing for Impact is an 8-month immersive program that teaches techniques for self-editing and assists writers as they self-edit their manuscripts.
This program combines weekly self-study lessons and assignments with group coaching and a supportive community to keep you motivated and accountable.

Program Goals
This program guides participants step-by-step through the process of self-editing their manuscripts, from big-picture, structural edits to detailed line edits.
Participants will gain an understanding of how publishing works and the edit stages a manuscript goes through before publication.
What do you get?
- A 32-week course taking you step-by-step through the self-editing process, including reverse outlining, content edits, copy edits and the final proofread.
- Weekly group coaching sessions led by one of our editors.
- A community of fellow writers who will be your allies, accountability partners, and perhaps even your critique partners.
- Discounted access to other Gemini Writer's Studio products and workshops.
- Discounted one-on-one consultations with our editors for the duration of the program.

Program Curriculum
Testimonial from recent graduate Jill Kingston:
This program was a transformative experience for me. The length of the course provided ample time to cover all aspects of the revision process as we worked through the steps in real time. The weekly lessons were well-structured, informative, and included links to videos and articles for further study. Many of the lessons were similar in content to an introductory writing course I’ve taken, but the Rough to Revised course helped me apply the knowledge. Romy, Julie, and Eva were all very knowledgeable, providing insightful and empowering support to meet us wherever we found ourselves on the writing journey. I gained a deeper understanding of story structure and the revision process, confidence in my ability to write and refine my skills, and a next-level momentum in my writing process.

Glenda Ouellette
As a new writer on her journey to become a published author, I'm fortunate to have Julie and Romy as my writing coaches.
Their experience as published authors has translated into giving me the knowledge and confidence to draft my story.
I value their coaching style, which includes usable frameworks, open discussions, and candid observations on what works and what doesn't.
The Gemini Writer's Studio is my go-to community, where I am inspired and motivated to write.

Danielle McCurry
Gemini Writers is a phenomenal group of writing professionals dedicated to helping writers develop their projects. I have worked with Julie and Romy over the past year and a half. They are deeply knowledgeable about the craft and encouraging -- with enough push to keep you progressing forward! The combined expertise and experience has helped me sharpen my writing and take my manuscript from an idea to a first draft and now into self editing. Any Gemini Writers course you can be a part of will be well worth your time and investment!

Mary Montanye
I’ve had the privilege of studying writing and editing fiction with Julie Cameron, Romy Sommer and Eva Fox Mate. I enthusiastically recommend the courses they develop and their methods of teaching. They teach what does work, rather than what should work, based on their experiences as working writers themselves.
Through first-hand experience, they know how to teach writing, and how to assist students in developing their own unique voices. They consider what writers want and need to meet the dream of publication. I now write the stories I’ve always wanted to but didn’t know how, and I am so grateful. Thank you, Romy, Julie and Eva!
